Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran tentang motivasi kerja, pengembangan karir dan kepuasan kerja pada pegawai Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Provinsi DKI Jakarta, mengetahui pengaruh signifikan motivasi kerja terhadap kepuasan kerja, mengetahui pengaruh signifikan pengembangan karir terhadap kepuasan kerja dan mengetahui pengaruh motivasi kerja dan pengembangan karir secara simultan terhadap kepuasan kerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan sampel sebanyak 115 responden. Pengumpulan data dengan kuesioner. Data diuji dengan analisis regresi linear berganda. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif, uji instrumen, uji asumsi klasik dan uji hipotesis. Hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan kondisi motivasi kerja, pengembangan karir dan kepuasan kerja tergolong sangat tinggi. Selain itu, hasil uji data menunjukkan motivasi kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja, pengembangan karir berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja serta motivasi kerja dan pengembangan karir secara simultan berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan kerja. Hasil tersebut berkaitan dengan discrepancy theory atau teori pebedaan yang mengukur kepuasan dengan cara menghitung selisih antara apa yang seharusnya diterima dengan kenyataan dirasakan pegawai. Implikasi dari penelitian ini diantaranya organisasi dapat mendukung dan memastikan kebijakan yang berkaitan dengan pemberian dorongan melalui terpenuhinya segala kebutuhan dari pegawainya; memastikan pegawai dalam memperoleh sasaran dan tujuan karir melalui program pengembangan karir; dan memastikan bahwa pegawai memiliki perasaan senang terhadap pekerjaan dan berbagai aspek pekerjaanya. Rekomendasi bagi penelitian selanjutnya adalah dapat menambahkan atau mengganti variabel bebas lain yang berpotensi memengaruhi kepuasan kerja seperti budaya organisasi, sistem kompensasi atau faktor-faktor lain serta dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan melibatkan populasi dan sampel yang lebih besar baik dengan objek penelitian serupa atau berbeda. Kata kunci: motivasi kerja, pengembangan karir, kepuasan kerja, discrepancy theory*****The purpose of this study is to find out the overview of work motivation, career development and job satisfaction in employee of Department of Youth and Sports DKI Jakarta Province, to find out the significant influence of work motivation on job satisfaction, to know the significant influence of career development on job satisfaction, and to find out the influence of work motivation and career development simultaneously on Job satiscfaction. This research was conducted with a sample of 115 respondents. Data collection with questionnaires. The data were tested by multiple linear regression analysis. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis, instrument test, classical assumption test, and hypothesis test. The results of data processing showed that the conditions of work motivation, career development and job satisfaction are classified as very high. In addition, the results of the data test showed that motivation had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, career development had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and work motivation and career development simultaneously had an effect on job satisfaction. These results are related to discrepancy theory which measures satisfaction by calculating the difference between what should be received and the reality felt by employees. The implications of this research include that organizations can support and ensure policies related to providing encouragement through fulfilling all the needs of their employees; ensuring employees in obtaining career goals and objectives through career development programs; and ensuring that employees have a good feeling about work and various aspects of their work. Recommendations for future research are to add or replace other independent variables that have the potential to affect job satisfaction such as organizational culture, compensation system or other factors and can be further developed by involving a larger population and sample either with similar or different research objects.
